Grete Jalk Chair in Exhibition Centraal Museum: ‘Stoel neemt Stelling’
The exhibition ‘Stoel neemt stelling’ can be seen in the Centraal Museum in Utrecht from September 23, 2023. The exhibition is an ode to the chair. Makers and users show the many forms and meanings of this piece of furniture. From revolutionary production methods and iconic designs to symbolic chairs: ‘Stoel neemt stelling’ surprises with diverse designs from more than a hundred makers.
One of these iconic chairs is the GJ Bow Chair, designed by Grete Jalk in 1963. This special chair has been given a beautiful place on a specially designed carpet and wallpaper (see photo).
